Hello, my name is Marisela but I go by Mari and I joined fotki because I am transitioning from relaxed to natural hair. I am unsure of my hair type but once it grows out hopefully I'll be able to tell. I've decided to transition because I am sick of my hair always breaking and resulting to have to continuously trim. I can only grow my hair to my shoulders before I have to cut it again and this sucks! I had such thick, long, beautiful hair when I was a child and now it is just thick, fried and dried, and uneven. This site is inspirational and hopefully I will reach my goal of a full head of natural georgeous hair! Feel free to view my albums.


-MY HAIR REGIMEN-
Every night before I go to bed I apply jojoba oil to my scalp and a little throughout my twists. After about a week, depending on how active I am, I will co-wash my hair and then towel dry. I apply more oil and spray in a leave-in coditioner.

***June 17 UPDATE***

BLASTED SINGLE STRAND KNOTSs!! I had to do my hair in small two-strand twists and trim each with about a centemeter cut to get rid of those...blasted dreadful things!!! Horrible, I know! I am going to try and mantain my ends now. They were so deprived of moisture and were beginning to break..eek!

MY HAIR IS DEHYDRATED!!!

****NEW HAIR NOTES****

1. Try to keep hair stretched Via twist outs and Braiding to avoid knots
2. Moisturize with something water based and seal in with some kind of oil or butter creme every day.
3. Trim when hair becomes freqently knotted at the ends and suffocated
4. Sleep with a satin pillow case
5. Deep condition weekly
6. Restore ph levels with an ACV rinse monthly
7. Drink lots of water!
8. Eat Plenty of veggies!
9. Excercise the body and mind.
10. Quiet Time!
