Hello world!!!! Im on here to document my natural hair journey and to meet and learn from other naturals. I have always almost been obsessed with natural hair. I loved the beauty of it. Ever since high school I've gone back and forth with the possibility of being natural. My permed hair never seemed to grow pass a certain length. I would begin the steps of transitioning and then chicken out when I expressed the idea to others and they had snide remarks. It wasnt until December of last year that I truly became dedicated to going natural. I recieved my last cfc right before Christmas and fought with myself to not perm my hair again out of frustration with the two textures. After 5 months it became unbearable my napps were literally destroying my permed ends to the point i couldn't do anything with my hair. So on May 2008 after watching the American Idol finale I bc'd and I couldnt be happier. It definetely took some adjustment though. I loved it but I was still wrapped up in what everyone else thought. I would put braids in my hair and kinky twist to hide my length because I wasn't yet comfortable. One day after looking at all the beautiful women on here with there twa rocking them in confidence and pride I was inspired to say the least I haven't looked back since. I'm loving how uniquue and versaitile my natural hair is. I love walking in the rain and not having to worry and most of all I love that it is all me!!!!! This wont be an easy journey but I am looking forward to seeing my hair's full potential. Please feel free to write me and comment.
