I'm a married, mother of three biological children and two step-children. I love singing, reading, writing poetry, and traveling.

I was born in Queens (Hollis), New York and moved to North Carolina in November, 2004. In my younger days, my hair was very soft and had natural curls. My mom didn't have to do much to it to get it to "behave." However, by the time I was 7, she was tired of fighting with me (I was very tender-headed) and so she decided to send me to a professional beautician for a Press & Curl. I was beautiful. Yes, I was. But the torture I went through because of it. My hair was waist length and took a long time to finish it.

The press & curl process went on from age 7 until approximately age 22. By that time the "geri curl" was out and I wanted it bad. Since I had never had any chemicals in my hair at all, the beautician I went to tested my hair and everything was a "go." Needless to say I wore this "style" in my long length and a very short assymetrical bob for many years until I did not like the style anymore.

Since then I had all types of hair styles and all lengths. There have been twists, braids, afros, slick-backed styles with attached hair pieces and the like. Lord knows, that's enough. Now I am on my loc'd journey and this will be it. It has been five months and I am enjoying the trip. My hair is still in the baby stage and must be cared for gently, but with a lot of nourishing these baby locs will mature into beautiful grown-up locs.
