My Hair Story:
**During elementary I got a jheri curl (maybe 1st or 2nd grade), but I never wore it curly. I mainly wore my own hair cornrowed into a ponytail with the beads at the ends. Other times my mother would put about 10 twists in my hair and I'd wear it like that.

**In the 4th grade, my mother to switch me over to relaxer. She told me she was going to trim my hair. Next thing I know I see long pieces of hair falling (my hair went from APL to ear length).

**The first perm we tried was the Just For Me...FAIL!

**Next we used the regular adult perm which was able to make my hair straight. Throughout middle school my hair never went past the bottom of my neck. I continued with the perm every 6-8 weeks up until the summer of 2001 (before I entered high school).

**The day that I was supposed to get the perm, I didn’t feel like walking to the beauty supply store – which I continued to put off. Then I found out that one of my cousins decided to not get perms anymore, and I decided that I wouldn’t either.

**High School (2001 – 2005) I kept my hair in individual braids and when I did wear my hair out I flat ironed it and wore it in pig tails.

**College (2005 – 2009) Continued with the individuals, and started doing kinky twist. In the summer of 2007, I was surfing the net and came across some of the albums on this site and decided to start wearing my hair out more often (mostly in twist-outs and braid-outs, I'm not good at the wash-n-go)

**Now: I am trying to grow out my highlights.
About 4in left to go - my hair grows and inch, I cut an inch.

**Current – Future GOALS
1. Moisturize my hair more often
2. Do more protective styling
3. MBL hair when straight for longest layers and BSL for shortest layers
