Well,

I've been doing this natural thing for about three years now so i started transitioning when i was 19 but i had only ever first relaxed my hair when i was 13 so i had the chemicals in my hair for over six years! Wow, never thought about it until now...

Basically, I have kind of discovered that my hair isn't as thick or as full as it was when i finished transitioning so i figure am still causing my hair some serious damage with combing, blow-drying and stretching and what not so i decided to use this account to document a new hair journey - because i'm taking my hair in a new direction.

I have decided, as of last month, that I will no longer blow dry my hair or use heating products on it, no matter how desperate things get and i will give it until my 25th birthday (two years basically) to see how it's doing.

I've been trying to transition with braids and am so going to try some sort of weave but am finding that my scalp feels so sensitive, it hurts to put the braids in and it hurts (somehow even more) when i have taken them out because my scalp is still tender.

Being natural has been kind of hard on me because if i had my way i would have a permanent ponytail but my hair isn't long enough and the stress of daily styling of my thick, tangled hair is pushing me towards a short, relaxed hair style but my sister is sort of begging me not to and I know i so will regret it so am just trying to be strong.

That's why am here i guess, hoping that all my natural sisters will help me out with advice and encouragement to manage my hair which i love so much and am so proud of (even though am moaning right now)!
