- Here is my current regimen in detail. You can find pictures, comments, and answers to questions in my Hair Products/Regimen Album.
Sundays *I do a hot oil treatment with a tablespoon each of EVOO, Jojoba, and Coconut Oil. I warm the oils in the microwave for less than a minute. I make sure that the oil isn't hot. I apply the oil on my hair and wear plastic cap under the dryer for about 30 minutes. *I shampoo my hair with Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose. * After my shampoo, I apply Aubrey Organics GPB and sit under the dryer for 30 minutes with a plastic cap. *Next, I deep condition with Aubrey's Honeysuckle Rose for 30-45 minutes using a plastic cap under the dryer. When I am finished, I do not towel dry and put a plastic cap on my hair. *For my rollerset, I spray A LOT of water, Giovanni Direct Leave In, and Redken Heat Glide for bouncy curls. I have a spray bottle at my side the whole time while I am setting my hair to keep my hair moist. For a tight curl, I use yellow magnetic rollers, beige magnetic rollers for wavy curls, and aqua magnetic rollers when I want to wear my hair straight.
Wednesdays/Thursdays *Shampoo with Honeysuckle Rose *Deep Condition with Honeysuckle Rose for 30-45 minutes *Rollerset with Giovanni Direct Leave In and Redken Heat Glide
*I clairify my hair using Aubrey Organics Aloe Essence about every other week or as needed.
*I moisturize daily with NTM Silk Touch Leave-In. I seal my moisturizer with Coconut Oil. I really focus on my ends! I also use Profectiv Healthy Ends. When my hair feels extremely dry, I use Jane Carter's Nourish and Shine. I also do a daily scalp massage using jojoba oil, peppermint, and rosemary essential oils mixed together.
*To avoid heat, I alternate by doing pincurls, wrapping my hair, flexi rods, wearing hair slides, or putting it in a bun.
*I stretch my relaxers to 10-12 weeks. My stylist uses Vitale Pro Relaxer.
*I color my hair using Clairol's Textures and Tones in Bronze. It is very important for me to keep my hair MOISTURIZED since I am relaxed and color treated. I live by the motto: color a perm don't perm a color! I really don't have a set schedule when I color my hair. It's just when I can't take the dark roots anymore. :) If I would have to guess, I would say every four-six months. *edit* I received my first professional color from my stylist on 3/07. She used Kadus but I am unsure what shades she used. I was very happy with the results and will have her to continue coloring my hair. *Vitamins GNC NourishHair (one in the morning/one at night) Nioxin (one in the morning/one at night) Silica 500mg (one in the morning) Flaxseed Oil 1000mg (one at night) Vitamin C 500mg (one in the morning)
