The Bears is a youth running program based in Sussex County, New Jersey. No, this is not the part of Jersey where you ask "what exit are you from." THIS is a part of NJ that few know exists. It's dotted with lakes and streams, woods and trials abound and it's away from the hustle and bustle. We have mountains, not hills, the air is pure and so are the people. Bears roam the are, and so do our youth runners as they learn the many physical and mental benefits of the wonderful sport of running.

Each year, we hold several races which benefit various charities.

This site features photos of our races, journals about them and running in general and is a celebration of the sport.
