- I am a stay at home Mom of 3 beautiful boys. I enjoy reading, surfing the net, skating and I dabble a little in sewing, arts and crafts. Recently, after years of self-relaxing my hair, It became very brittle and severely damaged. With no other alternative available, my Mother in-law cut off all my relaxed hair. At first, I didn’t know how I would feel. I was a little self-conscious to tell the truth; however, I turned right around and put a Blow out kit (texturizer)on my hair. I wore that style for a few months, then some personal things started happening with me and I made a BIG change in my life. It was at that time I was finally able to embrace my Afro. This style began to really grow on me. I was really feeling it! Then my vibe started spreading like wildfire. I've even inspired my sister in-law, my mother in-law and some church members to go natural. Yeah!!
We are loving it!!!!!!

HAIR JOURNAL
As a child my hair was natural until I was about 3, which was around the time I got my first Pressing Comb In A Jar. When I was in the 4th or 5th that when I got my first Jeri curl I remember it smelled like apples I dyed my hair with Kool-Aide several times and kept a curl or Wave Nuevo until I was in my senior year. In the middle of my senior year I went back to the relaxer.
After high school I continue on with my relaxer. In June of 2006 my hair was so badly damaged from a relaxer that a so called church friend had put in my hair. The fact that I was under a tremendous amount of stress didn’t help either. In May of 2006 I had a texturizer and when I went to church I would curl my hair and Monday thru Friday I would just wash and go. I finally embraced my natural hair and didn’t care what anyone else had to say about it. Saturday August. 15, I decided I was ready to loc my hair and started with braids about the size of a skinny straw. Monday August. 17, I took those down and started some micro braids instead. I am so excited and can’t wait to finish. So far I have 160 braid locks. O.K. I stopped counting and my sister in law helped me finish my hair. We took a lot of breaks it took us all day. The actual work only took about 5 1/2 hours or less but because she (my sister in law) sectioned my hair of to large she decided to make each braid section smaller.
I love it. ; D
