My name is Monique and I am a 28 year old wife & mother of 5 beautiful children. I have had relaxed hair ever since I was about 11 years old. Yes my hair was long but I was brain washed into thinking that straight hair was the only way to look beautiful. I decided enough was enough, and started to research natural hair.

I read and read, and talked to other people who have natural hair. I even got inspiration and encouragement from looking at other peoples journey with their natural hair. I transitioned for 2 months and then did the "Big Chop". This is my journey from that point on...thank you for coming to my page and I pray that it encourages, and inspires those who are taking the plunge like me.
