1. My hair appreciates commercial products vs. homemade concoctions or homemade manufacturers. No offense but that is just what my hair chooses.
2. Embrace the hair's natural texture - if it is bushy - accept it and learn to work with it.
3. Do not underestimate the power of moisturized healthy natural hair. It is a lifesaver and pretty much guarantees the natural hair will grow to great lengths.
4. Keep a journal of hair idols. They keep you motivated towards a particular goal especially when the journey gets challenging or you want to turn around and give up
5. Respect other's choices in what they choose to do with their hair. One method of maintaining hair is not more "black" than another. Choices are the spice of life and it is everyone's right. Don't berate someone b/c their hair choice is not yours or something you do not approve of. As long as they love themselves and their people - it is all good to me
6. Never say never - you do not know WHAT you are going to do or how you will feel 1, 3, or 5 years from now so never say never those words can come back to bite you.
