- I've been struggling with my hair for as long as I can remember. I had my first chemical fire creme at the approximate age of five or six. Since my hair wouldn't straighten from the regular strength CFCs, we upgraded to super CFCs. There were moments where the super strength CFC would sit in my hair for about half an hour. 5th grade became the year of jheri curls and 6th grade went back to the super cfc's. My hair had yet to grow past my shoulders, but I knew that fairly long hair is common in my family. It was always thin, damaged, brittle, dry, and overprocessed. Embarrassments presumed when the drain would seriously clog up from the unusual amount of hair I shed back then - clogs were not apparent in my parents bathroom. To add to all of this, I didn't have the time to get routine touch ups which led to more breakage when I was able to get it done thus leading to having my hair cut from shoulder length to right below the ear. All of this constant drama and lack of confidence because of how damaged, straggly, and thin it was led me to begin this napptural journey to long, fro-ing hair. It's something I don't regret, it's fun, and it's me.
Enjoy this album as it tracks my growing relationship with my hair. <3 - General Information
