Hello All,

I started my journey to nappturality June 2006. I transitioned for 12 months and I BCed July 20th, 2007. I'm so excited about my natural hair. If any of you have advice please feel free to share it. 1. How long did you transition?
I transitioned for a year.

2. How often do you trim your hair?
I trim my hair quarterly (every 3 months)

3. What is your routine?
I co-wash about 2-4 times a week. I comb through with Pantene Hydrating Curls Conditioner. Let it sit. Then I rinse out about 50% of the conditioner and I top off with some Fantasia IC Gel. On occassion I also use EcoStyler Gel, Benito Clay, Blended Beauty Shampoo and Conditioner, and Kinky-Curly hair products.

4. What is your hair type?
I'm not sure but if any of you can offer a suggestion I'd love to hear it!

5. Do you have any advice for people who are just starting their journey?
The best piece of advice I can offer is to accept your hair for what it is and what it's not. My stylist really encouraged me to go natural and when I made the decision I thought "I want my hair to hang and be just like Veronica's." Well as you can see in my albums my hair doesn't really hang. It's important that you learn the needs of your hair rather than comparing your hair to someone else's wishing for their texture, thickness, curl pattern, volume, etc. I believe the sooner you accept your hair and find out what its needs are, the sooner you'll begin growing a healthy head of hair no matter what your kinks or curls look like!
