Going natural is something I have always wanted to do, but I lacked the confidence. Years ago I didn't fully appreciate my hair in its natural state. I, like so many others, fell into the mindset that my hair could only be beautiful if it was straight. It took a long time for me to free myself from the bondage I was in.

I have since come to appreciate my hair and its unique beauty. My last perm was in November 2005. I did the big chop in April 2006 and had my hair comb coiled in June of the same year. I feel so free to be me. Today I am able to sport my natural hair with pride and confidence.
