I became natural because I was tired of having bran flake sized dandruff/dry scalp. As the commercial says, "Don't wear black without the Blue." I couldn't wear any color because if I had a really bad itch, I would have a head and shirt full of flakes. Once I decided that I was not going to relax my hair I immediately noticed that my scalp was in better condition. My hair routine did not change and the only thing that was different was me not relaxing my hair. Since I've BCed I haven't had any scalp issues that wasn't solved with a good washing of the scalp. I'm definitely loving the ease and versatility of natural hair.

All I need is a shampoo conditioner and a moisturizer and I'm good to go.

My Routine: (I don't have a set day when I wash.)

Usually, I wash my hair while loose. If I have in box braids, I shampoo and condition with braids still in.

Shampoo- Mainly concentrating on the scalp, then rinse. Only lathering once.

Conditioner- Saturate my hair w. product, then I detangle. After detangling, I let conditioner sit for about 3-5 minutes and rinse.

Moisturize- if applying castor oil , I apply it TO THE HAIR, NOT THE SCALP on dripping hair and allow to air dry until damp then I apply a little more oil. If I'm applying shealoe, I towel dry a little then apply shealoe TO THE HAIR NOT THE SCALP.

Style- In twist or braids. As I'm twisting or braiding I add a little more castor oil or shealoe to the ends.

During the week my hair usually gets damp from the shower. I use that opportunity to add more oil or shealoe.
