- I am a gear head and i think I always have been. My Pop was a mechanic and my first automotive memory was doing body work on his 57 Chevy. I was 5. I started building models around age 10, and I have been building ever since. There was the normal slow down period in high school and college when I got my first real 1:1 car. It was a 68 Chevy Nova with a 327 in it. Man I loved that car. Then we got into racing and i spent the better part of the next 8 years driving stock cars on the local short track circuit. After I got married I got back into model building in a serious manner. I currently belong to 6 different model clubs. I enjoy travelling with my buddies to the different model shows, car shows, and motor racing events around the area and across the country.
