Who am I?
I am more than what is revealed to the naked eye.
It would take you 3 lifetimes to really see me.
You think you got me figured out
by my exterior
when its my interior that defines me.
A heart of gold
strength passed down on the backs of my ancestors
wisdom taught from experience
courage learned when forced to face my fears
tenderness only a woman can give.
Yes I am a woman.
Black butterfly.
Free.
Floating in a lavender abyss of love.
Holding tight to my inner child
but not afraid to be an adult.
Head held high
knowing that I've already been shown the way
Walking on and in faith.
Who am I?
I'm a rebel
who won't adhere to other's narrow minded notions
fit into a box
to make others comfortable.
I don't want to be comfortable.
I want to be fearless.
I want to take life by the horns and ride until I lose my breathe.
I want to soar
to the highest altitude.
You don't know me.
I can't be seen by the naked eye.
I am not my hair, clothes or profession.
To truly see all that I encompass
let your spirit be the guide
