Hair Type: 4a/4b
All my life I've had neck length hair and it sucked. Not neck length hair but just not able to go beyond it. In high school I used to always wonder how some (but not many) black girls had hair all the way to their shoulders or more and why my hair was always done and looking cute, but it was just always neck length. I used to fry the hell out of my hair. I used to flat iron about twice a week and never achieving length.
I'm so happy to have found BHM and fotki.com. To see black woman and not to mention dark skinned sistas like me with hair all the way down their backs, is truly a sight to see not to mention how easy it is to achieve it.....
I am on this same quest now for longer and healthier hair. So far I have found out so much about myself and my hair. I hope to continue to learn more.
NEXT UPDATE: October 3, 2008 @ 15 weeks post
-I don't know what I was thinking in June updating only after 9 weeks post. I think I was so press to see some new growth after using Surge and WGO that I just had to see how long my hair was. But that won't happen again. I want to see if i can make 15 weeks (every 4 months) a stretching staple for me.

Okay Yall I've finally Updated for June 2008..
I learned so much about myself and my hair its crazy. But it was fun!!! I stretched for about 9 weeks I think and came up with so many protective styles.
My new favorite hair accessory HALF WIGS AND REGULAR WIGS!! I'm tellin yall get on the BANDWAGON!! LOL
But If your not a wig person, a simple bun will do!
Some Hair Tips I use and I've become pretty successful with:
-MOISTURIZE AND SEAL EVERYNIGHT
-No combing just fingercombing
-Tried and True Staples
-S-Curl
-Surge 14
-WGO

She is my Ultimate Hair Goal and the fact that her hair was neck length in the beginning gives me even more motivation to grow my hair long!
