I never considered myself to have natural hair, although I've had virgin hair most of my adult life. It was always braided, weaved, straightened or under a wig. This year I just became overwhelmed with trying to make my hair do something it didn't want to do. I was trying to wear my hair bone straight and still be able to go to the gym. I was tired of wearing it slicked back into a ponytail because it had reverted back to it's natural state. I've tried several times to do something with my hair. I grew very frustrated, I was ready to chop it off . One day the lord spoke to me and I realized that if this is the hair he created for me then he never intended for me to struggle with it so. I started searching the internet and found nappturality.com and that's how discovered all the ladies on fotki. It was an out of body experience, I felt like I was coming home, I wasn't alone. . For the first time I learned what to do with my natural hair besides weaves and braids. I felt like I had been set free. I didn't have to hide what my hair did naturally. Don't get me wrong, I still love braids,weaves and an occassional flat iron, but I like my natural hair better. I just love the versatility.

1-01-09 I can't believe another year has passed. This year I hope I will take better care of my hair. Last year was all about falling in love with my natural hair. I couldn't keep my hands out of it. It was overstyled. This year I want to grow long healthy hair.
