I’d like to introduce you to the hobby, craft and sport of line control model sailing.
This method of model sailing is to water, what kites are to air. Building upon a solid cedar hull, you can create your own sail plans using simple methods and materials, a plastic bag, bamboo skewers, bits of recycled plastic etc. The sails are controlled by using some fishing line on a kite spool. You then wade through the water, working the line to trim the sails and changing the models direction as you go.
Like kiting, it’s for all ages, how much refinement you put into your model is up to you.

It’s a great way to exercise your creativity, and your body, in the best environment there is for the soul, a shallow beach area on a summer day. 8^ )
