- My name is Nigel. I'm a 41 year old living on northeastern outskirts of Manchester, England.
Although I'm trained as a painter, having done a degree in fine art in the dim and distant past, my current artistic outlet is photography. My first camera was an Olympus XA II compact which I still have. When I went to college I wanted a better SLR camera so I moved on to a Pentax K1000. At the time I used photos instead of sketches but I now think of my photos as being the final work of art. About 2 years ago I moved into digital photography. The cameras which I use now are an Olympus E500 DSLR, a Sony Cybershot W50 which I carry around with me almost everywhere I go and a Fuji Finepix S5700 which is somewhere between the two.
My photography is mainly landscapes, both urban and rural. My aim is to capture and record what is around me or grabs my interest and present it in an artistic and aesthetic way.
Although I have no ambitions of becoming a pro or anything I am always striving to improve and broaden my photography. The limiting factor is the amount of time I can find to devote to it.
I am going to be revamping this site to be more accessible to anyone who wishes to browse. I hope you have a look round and hope you enjoy your visit to my photography site.
