- When I began my hair journey, my hair was eaten up in places and my scalp was visible through my hair in other places. I have found that my hair grows really fast, but I was terrible at retaining length. Instead of keeping it moisturized, I would braid it up and slap a sewin-in over it and hope for the best. When I took out the sewn-ins a couple of months later, my hair would be obviously thicker and nicer, but instead of detangling (I was terrified of seeing all of the shed hair in the comb), I would wash it first and have these horrific mats that would take out clumps of my hair. I was at my wits end, until I found BHM. There I was able to learn healthy hair practices like moisturizing, detangling, less heat, no super tight braids, etc. Thank you ladies of BHM! Over the past 3 months I have seen a huge change in my hair and how I take care of it.
