I am pleased to reach my 2nd goal (Between Shoulder & APL) on schedule. See my Comparison folder for a 7-Month Comparison photo. While reaching the next goal of APL, I will focus more on health by giving more moisture and protein treatments and using less heat.

Hello My Fellow Hair Divas, today is Monday, January 07, 2008

I am very proud of my 3-months update. I have retained a lot of length because of baggying, moisturizing and praying. Not only did I reach my first goal of shoulder length by Jan 07, but I passed it!!! :o)) APL, here I come!!!

Hello everyone, today is Sunday, October 7, 2007. I am soooo excited to be apart of this awsome forum. The day that I discovered it, I cried because I have been battling hair issues for about 20 years!

All of the ladies in my family have beautiful, long and healthy heads of hair. Although they gave me a lot of sympathy, love and support, they could not really understand what I was going through.

Just out of high school, I was told by one dermatologist that I have alopecia and by several others that nothing is wrong. I even cried in one dermatologist's office, and he rudely told me that I was expecting too much and escorted me out. I was told by hair stylists that I should keep it cut in order for it to grow and to put miracle grow aids on it. Some even laughed at my hair and said that they didn't know what to do. You can just imagine what this did to my self-esteem and pocketbook!!! After 10 years of listening to this professional ignorance, I left them all alone and started to wear weaves and braids. This helped with my self-esteem, but not the health of my hair.

Well, now I am not alone any more and I am very proud to have fellow long and healthy-hair dreamers just like me to talk with as much as I'd like.

The pictures that I am starting my journey with are from this month, October 2007. Although my hair looks very thin and short, It has come a long way, and I have worked very hard to get it to this point (No split-ends, very little breakage, average amount of shedding, all natural and 4b).

Since August of last year, I have been co-washing my hair as often as 2x weekly with LeKair Cholesteral Conditioner, greeeeasing and braiding it up. I am no longer ignorant about how to properly take care of it, thanks to the LHCF, Cathy Howse, Macherieamour, Sistaslick, Tank, Mee Mee, Siiister and many more. Although I was on the right track with the co-washing, I was not moisturizing! Stupid, Stupid, Stupid! As soon as I found you sistahs, I threw out the grease and replaced it with 2 things, S Curl Moisturizer and Herbal Oil...the results have been amazing. Smart, Smart, Smart!

My goals, current routine and products are posted in my journal. I could certainly use all of your encouragment.
