Okay so I must update you all! I did the Big Chop from my short relaxed bob on June 4th 2009 to less than half an inch. It's been a little over 2 months since my BC going on 3 months. I have a TWA thats about 2 inches and very curly and springy. I have type 3c/4a hair. Everyone asks if I have a wave nouvou in my head (dont even know how to spell it!!).
*****My Reggie*******
*Condition wash everyday with Suave Coconut, Strawberry, or Cherry Blossom
*Apply Cantu Shea Butter Leave in, EVOO, and Fantasia Gel the pink kind
*Go out the door!
*Wash and deep condition with Aubrey Organic's Islands Naturals on Sunday
*Sometimes I wear wigs, half wigs and lacefronts to work or outside, my friends and coworkers get a kick out of that!
*****TIPS******
*Keep it simple ladies! I grew my natural hair to MBL like this, maintained MBL relaxed hair like this, and will grow out my newly natural hair like this also. I got damage and thin hair from doing TOO MUCH with products, relaxers, and styles which made my hair thin and lack luster to begin with.
*Do not over wash your hair with shampoo
*Do not relax hair too often or too straight
*Do not heat style natural or relaxed hair more than once a month
*Avoid tight braids
*Braids are not bad, they cut down on manipulation and give a polished look, but avoid micro braids of any style.
*AIR DRY HAIR!! or if you must only blow dry when hair is about 80% dry
*Use heat protectant when pressing or flat ironing hair. Some people use grease still with no problems. I actually prefer it over those silicons.
*Product junkyism is BAD, and it is also very expensive. Find one or two products that makes ur hair go "Yummy".
