Not much to tell. An aspiring actress for theatre, tv, & film. Student-In-Training at Chatham University (used to be Morgan State University, but that didn't work out too well). {<Major=Theatre>} I'm also interested in psychology, fashion, and business but would rather not go to school for it (I'm more of a hands-on person. I'm only in college now so that I have something to fall back on if things don't work out or if I need to do something else before my "Big Break")

I'm new to all the hair care things and whatnot so please bear with me. I first started my natural journey in November of 2005. Decided to grow & chop (transition in braids and kinky twists) versus the BIG CHOP. End result: Natural hair ready to be shown in April of 2007 only to find that it was too much to handle. Then turned to a texturizer (soft & beautiful botanicals) which ended up making my hair worse so after a stunt in cornrows, I decided to texlax instead. The result: Manageable hair; still with texture. I was elated. Then after finding the best thing for my hair, I've been researching how to take better care of it. I've found a plethora of information from sistaslick's and Isis' fotkis as well as BHM, General Relaxed Hair Care, Mowtown, and Hair2Heaven. I've found that with increased washing, deep conditioning, balancing protein and moisture, and baggying are key elements for healthier hair. I'm still experimenting with products so I won't list which ones are in my staple.

...I guess I did have something to say, lol.

I have decided as of February 2008 that I'm jumping back on the natural bandwagon. I don't like having to retouch my hair every so often & I don't like how my hair has fallen so limp and flat, no matter what I do. I also hate the fact that no matter what I put on my relaxed hair it weighs it down versus what I put on my natural hair keeps it moisturized and nice looking. The relaxed hair is so weak and thin & uninspiring.

I regret texturizing my hair. That's where it all started. I was so impatient & didn't know what to do with it. I should have researched more in depth about what works better for my hair. But now that I have the tools & the patience and the confidence to stand out like I used to, I'm ready to retrace my roots & rediscover myself. And this time there's no going back...

So a lot of those who have visited know that I decided to stay texlaxed. I've learned how to manage it more efficiently so that my hair is healthy. Glory to God for all my progress because I know if it wasn't for Him I'd probably be bald with everything that I've done to my hair in the past!!!!
