OKAY SO MY BC HAS JUST BEEN CRAZY JUST BECAUSE OF THE DRYNESS AND ALL THE PERMED ENDS THAT ARE STILL ATTACHED.....ANY WAY I DECIDED TO GO AHEAD AND PUT SOME TWISTS IN JUST TO KIND OF TAME OT DOWN RIGHT NOW SINCE I'M IN THE PROCESS OF MOVING SO IM CONSTANTLY ON THE GO PLUS JUST TO AID WITH SOME GROWTH BECAUSE IM GETTIGN KIND OF DISCOURAGED BY THE SHRINKAGE I HAVE 5.5 INCHES OF HAIR AT LEAST BUT THAT ALL SHRINKS DOWN TO 1.0 AND IT MAKES ME SAD BECAUSE MY STYLES WONT EVEN HOLD. I'M TRYING NOT TO BECOME A PRODUCT JUNKIE BUT THERE'S NO OTHER WAY TO FIND OUT WHAT YOUR HAIR WILL LIKE OR POSITIVELY RESPOND TO..... SO KEEPING THE TWISTS IN FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS IF I CAN SWING IT I ALWAYS GET SUCH GOOD GROWTH WHEN I HAVE THEM IN SO/.......BARE WITH ME LADIES ......THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT....

Okay, I don't even know where to start, with trying to tell my difficult long and

depressing hair journey. I guess it first started around my younger years. A

set of my grandparents are Vietnamese/ Black and Full Blackfoot Indian, the

other set is Black and Cherokee Indian, so imagine some of the things I have



going on in my head. Since I'm somewhat mixed people always expect you to

have "good" hair but whatever. Anyway, my mom never knew or understood

how to deal with my hair and in desperate times she "permed" it, yes she put

that nasty crack in my hair!!!! I remember having some type of curls and

things going on. After a while I started doing my own hair and it got so very

badly in shape my crazy behind was putting 'crack" in it every two weeks just

about, so just imagine the damage. I continued doing this until up around

August or September of 2007. I jsut have never had long flowing locks like I

had always wanted with my permed ends. So, I decided to make a change.

My last perm was September of 2007, so I still have a very long way to go. I

don't yet know my hair texture, but I remember it being kind of funny when I

was younger, it had it's own attitude. So, I'm kinda actually looking forward to

that. I'm still searching for products, and trying to figure out a haair regimen.

Because I'm still in the Transitioning period I don't have a lot to do with it right

now. I plan to BC for my 18th birthday in September 2008. I can't wait I plan to

do alot of new good things for myself. I am new to this so my bad if you don't

see a lot of pics.

04-17-08R-Okay guys, I gotta tell ya'll this...... I was at school today and we're in the lase part of the semester getting ready for essays and presentations and what not and my teacher thought it would be suitable to watch "Eyes On The Prize", if any of you guys know what that is, for those who don't it is a documentary film stationed during the Civil Rights Era in Nashville, Tennessee. Any who we watched the film to the end and wrote a response to our notes, after we were all finished the students just kind of talked amongst our selves and behind me I hear this little Caucasian girl trying to explain to another Caucasian what "kinks" and "naps" were, and "oh, my Lord", you know I must have lost my beloved tressless mind............ here is her definition " naps are short hair little thingies that are tight and greasy on black peoples heads......" first of all what comes to mind is "What the @#%%$$# did she just say what i thought she said???????" Second of all what in the world does this child possibly know or thinks she may know what npas, and kinks, and curls are, when her hair is just dull and lifeless, limp with no character pattern or identity. Now some people say I'm taking this "Going Natural' thing a little too serious, but please tell me where she even thought she had that right to say that mess........ Now since I have been doing so much hair research my knowledge has greatly expanded so from there I was upset and began on elaborating and educating most people in the class on African "American" hair, the texture, the structure, the pattern, and the culture, how some chose to express themselves from others. and since we had just finished the film on the Civil Rights movement which consisted and focused mainly on discrimination and racism against black people, there was no better time to take it there. Now I wasn't the "usual unruly" black female the expected me to be but believe they all left that class room with a handful about me and where I and many of us Black African "Americans" have come from.......... let me know what you think ladies and gents.... that is all that is all..........

Well guys I finally did it......i really don't even know what to say or how to react. I
kind of wish that I would've waited a little bit longer only because of the major

shrinkage. But hey it's finally done if I wouldn't have gotten it done i just

would've kept talking about it so at least i got all of it off of my chest. The

woman that did kept trying to convince me not to do it " are you sure you

really want it this short" then she left like 3-4 other inches of permed hair still

on my head and i was like woman all of this can't possibly be mine and here

she goes: oh you really meant that....all of it?" I was like woman just cut the

damn hair .......but any way i will have pictures up soon enough so be patient

and get ready.....
