Thanks for visiting my page. I am a 24/yo wife and mother of two. Over the past couple of years, my life and faith have been tested in many ways by many people. But, by the grace of God, I survived. I've faced so many challenges throughout my lifetime and I'm still here to tell my story. The past few months have been the hardest and I made it through that too. It's almost like when you say "I just can't take anymore", God says "let my show you that you can". And he has truly showed me. Going natural has always been something that I've been curious about but never had the drive, fire, guts, gumption, and any other word you can think of that goes along with me being a chump and not wanted to change from the lifestyle I've always known. Well, with the recent strength that God has given me, I know I am up for the challenge and can definately handle it. Not only am I going natural with my hair, but I am applying it to many different aspects of my life, one step at a time. Cheers to my new journey in life.

11/14/09.... I did it, I BCed!!!!! I thought I was a type 4something, but now I'm unsure. I have areas of hair that has deep waves and the the top of my head grows straight. So, not sure what the type is, but I do know that God thought it was the right type for me. I am falling in love with the person God wants me to be. Hate on haters!!!

Hair Goals:
APL...April 2011....reached June 2011
BSL....December 2012

Regimen and staple products (updated 12/28/11):
Protective styling at least 2 out of 4weeks (usually 3)
I try to keep my ends protected about 75% of the time since my main focus right now is health and length.

Co-wash as needed, usually every 2 weeks or 1/week when my hair is not in protective styles
Leave-in (Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Leave-in or Giovanni Direct Leave-in)
DC bi-weekly (Condish, evoo, honey)
Clip ends every 4months as needed
Shampoo 1/month or after using a product with cones, mineral oil, or petroleum (Bentonite Clay or Giovanni 50/50 {until I use it up})
Seal on wet conditioned hair with an oil like olive or coconut.
Gel only on my edges (eco-styler clear, queen helene curl cream, or flax seed gel)

Current Hair Challenge:
1. 6 Month Protective Style challenge from October 2 to April 2 rules
Clarify 1/month
Co-wash as needed
Moisturize and seal as needed
DC bi-weekly (includes mini-DCs)
Styles: Conrows, box braids, flat twist, two strand twists, buns, straight styles,
Passes: 1 heat pass every 2 months, whether it be blow dry or flat iron, stretched out styles only 1/month for 1 week. This will allow me to blow dry for twist or braids every other month, flat iron every other month and rock a twist/braid out 1/month if I desire.

Also, since I had so much success with not using a comb for smoothing and detangling earlier this year, I will do it again for this challenge. I will give my self one comb pass per month.

No-No's for this challenge: tight puffs, W-n-Gs. rubber bands, metal clasp ponies,
