I am starting my hair care jounrey June 2008. I received my first relaxer at age 4 and I haven't had any bad experiences with my stylist but I do feel like I can take better care of my hair on my own. I believe my hair type is 4a/4b. I normally get a relaxer put in every 6 weeks but I am going to try to start stretching to every 9 weeks. Eventually I want to stretch to every 3 months, but that may be a while down the road.

Relaxer: Design Essential

Regimen:

I wash once a week with Creme of Nature Shampoo(Red Label)

Deep Condition once a week with heat for 30 to 45 minutes

I use Aphogee 2-minute reconstructor every other week(I leave it on for 10 minutes)

I Co-wash 2-3 times a week.(it increases as I stretch my relaxer)

I always air dry, and I never use heat except when deep conditioning.

Towel Dry hair then apply Aphogee Pro-Vitamine Leave in Conditioner, Aphogee Keratin & Green Tea Restructurizer, then a oil of my choice.

While my hair is still wet I braid my hair in 4-6 braids and roll the ends.

At night I apply Motions Leave in Condition or my VO5 Condtioner and braid my hair in 4 braids.
