ALYN Wheels of Love 2008 - IN PROGRESS NOW !!!

Hello everyone!! To all my dear friends and generous supportors and sponsors - Thank you all so very much for supporting our ride this year. This is the 9th annual International Charity Ride to benefit the children of ALYN Hospital. I will have much more to tell you about this, but for now, please enjoy these photos of a beautiful ride through a beautiful country to support beautiful children.

This year, the ride started in Jerusalem, headed west and south, then east across the Negev to the Dead Sea. Our final day has us climbing a brutal 25 miles from the lowest point on Earth, up to the heights of Jerusalem.

There is a folder for each day... Three days down, two days of long hard riding to go. Further editing will be done as time permits.

Please feel free to contact me at pianoman88@optonline.net

With best regards and love to all...

ALYN Wheels of Love 2007

This page is for all of my new friends from ALYN Hospital and the 2007 Wheels of Love International Charity Bike Ride.

This was my first year riding the ALYN ride and it was indeed an amazing experience. I came back from Israel feeling renewed in body, mind and spirit. To be honest, I’ve been having a hard time wrapping my head around the day-to-day stuff since returning.

To all of my friends – both new and old – I love you all. It was an unbelievable journey. Please enjoy these pictures from the ride. They are my personal photo journal of the On-Road Challenge Ride. I’ve tried to capture the rider’s-eye-view of the world. Editing work continues and I hope to have these on a photo CD at some point in the near future. Please stay tuned.

A thousand thank you’s and my deepest gratitude to all of you –
- to each and every rider who rose to the occasion, and to all my new friends (you know who you are),
- to the fantastic volunteers, who lifted our spirits, made the intersections a blast and took such good care of us,
- to the ride coordinators and to our own, very special, Erez the Magnificent – you are indeed the greatest!
- to the police and security escorts who kept us safe,
- to all of you who projected your warmth and vibrancy into every picture,
- to the beaming Israeli shop keeper who made me wait until he put on his tzitzis before allowing me to take his picture,
- to the everyone at ALYN Hospital and American Friends of ALYN – to Cathy Lanyard for her tireless and boundless energy,
- to my friends from Team Great Neck, and to my entire Long Island bike group, the North Shore Wheelmen,
- to Charlie Goldberg for being a terrific travel companion, and more importantly, getting me to do this ride,
- to all my dear friends and family who supported this effort through your contributions and generosity,
- and finally, to the children of ALYN. Our hearts go out to you.

A special and heartfelt thank you to my dear friend Jon Dobbs who, in an act of selfless generosity, loaned me his classic Kestrel to ride in the land of Israel.
