- Karl Davis is a freelance photographer based in Cary, NC who specializes in creating superior images for portrait, sports and landscape photography.
I began shooting as a hobby over 20 years ago in Florida as a studio photographer. During the early years, I worked exclusively on portraits and not only learned the fundamentals using 35mm but also gained expertise and proficiency in being able to create compelling images.
Well, it had to happen! A few years ago, I made the leap to digital photography and have never looked back! This ushered in a new sense of spontaneity and freedom to further explore more artistic paths. Strangely enough, the timing was such that my interests broadened and the scope of projects/assignments began to include not just portraits, but sporting events, landscape and events.
I am a member of member of Capital City Camera Club based in Raleigh, NC. My work has been published in locally in magazines and news print.
But what makes me different? I seek to photograph more than the face or the image in front of me... I want to capture the client’s personality; the mood; or the tone of a location. For me the challenge is to show that quick smile, the way your eyes light up when your favorite song plays... Yes, my aim is to:
"CAPTURE THE FLEETING GLANCE"
