My name is Maya, as you've probably read by now lol. I'm just a chill southern belle, with a goofy sense of humor & truly admire everyone who's bold enough to rock their true natural texture !

I don't necessarily have any "hair goals".... but since my hair was BSL when I started to transition, I want to see how long it will take me to get to WAIST LENGTH ... but I'm not giving myself a deadline like a lot of ppl because it seems like they get a little hair obsessed .. & I'm just too lazy for all of that lol
--- HAIR TYPE ---
If you go by the LOIS hair type system, my pattern is a combination of "OS" ... which means i have spirals [or coils] (O) & s-curls (S)
If you go by Andre Walker's hair type system, my pattern/texture is a half&half combination of 3c & 4a ....

I decided in February 2009 that I didn't want to go through the long and drawn out process of getting perms/relaxers anymore. The lengths my hair has been in the past were: mbl, then bsl, and lastly a little above bsl. It is the thinnest that it's ever been and I need a major change. So here I am now ! I found myself watching hundreds of youtube natural hair journey videos lol. They gave me the final push for my decision and I don't regret it at all. I'm very excited to see the finished product that will become of my hair in the future.
