I am a wife and mother of two little napturale women (ages 7 and 10). I began my natural journey 2 1/2 years ago, after my friend (her hair is awesome and inspiring). She sent me a link of two strand twists and the healthiness and thickness overwhelmed me. Unfortunately, I had just placed a relaxer in my head one week before. So, presently I have no new growth, but I am rocking the bantu knots, twist outs, and braid outs. I must say that it is so freeing to know that I am breaking free from the brainwashing of my youth. I've always felt that I had to make my hair do certain things and always felt like a slave to my hair. I know my hair was mad at me because I made it go against it's "bigness" and forced it to be fried, dyed, and laid to the side. I feel most comfortable when my hair is big, all over my head, and doing it's own thing. I must say that I am greatly enjoying finger combing my hair and having little (hair dryer) to no heat in my head. This site has also enabled me to take better care and understand my daughters' hair. They love me more for it and are rocking two strand twists and loving it. It used to take me an hour per head w/ washing, detangling, blow drying, and styling. This past weekend it only took 15 minutes per head w/ wash and styling and it still looks great!
