Hey wassup, I'm Mecca. I am 22 years old and I am an at home professional braider and I am in love with hair and makeup. I created this fotki page in hopes of growing my natural 3c-4a hair to bra strap length. I am here for the support of all you other happy growers out there in fotki land and I am here to receive support. I've been growing my hair for the past three years, but for the first year, I wasn't taking care of it.

I recently (from 2005-2008) grew my formally relaxed hair to bra strap length. From November of 2007 to 2008 I transitioned to natural hair. I hadn't yet did the BIG CHOP (trying to hold on to length), but after some hair breakage and damage from keeping my relaxed hair, I immediately cut the relaxed hair off around the second week in February 2009. So now I am all natural and relaxer free and loving it!

I am in the process of growing my natural hair to bra strap length. With the help of my Fotki girls and with the help of my girls at Hairlista, I have changed my regimen to a healthier regimen and I am on my way to, even if not long hair, healthy hair.

Update: 02/22/09
I have finally done my BIG CHOP! But as you can see I have no pics posted. :0( My cam is broken right now so I am going to have to try and get my nieces cam and take some pics. My hair is now in a full sew-in for protection while I grow out my hair. I wear my sew-ins and braid styles for 6-8 weeks at a time. I won't be updating or showing BIG CHOP pics until around the end of July. Sorry about the delay You guys, but I had to get those relaxed ends off (if I had a cam to take pics or not).
