- Hi Everyone!
***Next Update: TBD***
My hair is 100% natural; and the type is 4a with 4b around the nape and hairline. The baggie method REALLY works for me. It keeps my ends nice and strong and minimizes the single strand knots a lot of us naturals contend with. I baggy with Scurl or Cathy Howse cream moisturizer 3 to 5 times per week and seal with EVOO and my castor/jojoba oil mix. I also rotate the Scurl and baggy with MNT Hair Strengthener for protein if I notice any breakage.
SHAMPOOS: Right now I'm using the Pureology Nanoworks Poo, Kenra Moisturizing Poo, and Aussie Moist . The Nanoworks is really good as a protein/moisture combo poo, plus it's sulfate free. I also like using the Kenra Moisturizing for extra moisture. I use the Aussie Moist as a cheap back up, so I don't use up all my good stuff. Just recently got a Porosity Control set as a gift. Tried it and wasn't impressed. It's probably better suited for the relaxed ladies.
CONDITIONERS: It's all about Pureology Nanoworks, Kenra Moisturizng, Aussie Moist, and Aussie 3 Min Miracle. I get great moisture and slip from Kenra, great moisture from Aussie Moist, nice protein from Aussie 3 Min, and a nice protein/moisture combo from Nanoworks. I get GREAT slip from all of them.
DEEP CONDITIONERS: Lately my hair has needed more protein. So I've been using Pureology Recontruct Repair Deep Treatment 1x a week, which is pretty much strictly a protein treatment. I've also been using Cathy Howse conditioner. I'm also gonna start using my Mane N' Tail conditioner as a deep protein treatment. I stay under the dryer for at least 30 minutes. For moisturizing deep conditioners, I'm loving the Matrix Biolage Ultra-Hydrating Balm. All I can say is YUM!!! It gets my hair so soft and slippy. I try to use it only when my hair is craving moisture or when I'm getting ready to flat iron. I also deep conditioned with Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose. It was nice. I'm not sure if it should be used as a deep conditioner though.
LEAVE-INS: Giovanni Direct Leave-in is a MUST for all naturals (imo). It gives outstanding slip. I also like the Garnier Fructis Length & Strength Anti-Split ends treatment. It leaves my hair feeling nice and strong, without feeling dry.
***I am a product junkie, so there's a TON of stuff in my linen closet that I haven't even tried yet. So in the coming weeks and months, there may be some other goodies listed here.- lol***
As far as growth aids, I tried MTG for about a month. I noticed a little bit more growth (I guess), but not enough to get excited about. I'm going to start using it again, but I'll be using it for dandruff and shedding control, which seems to be a more effective use for it. .
GOALS: Welp, looks like I've finally passed up BSL! Yay, yay, yay!!!-lol I'm hoping to be at WL by the end of December. Thanks for all your support ladies! Wish me luck!!!:)
