I have been wanting locks for about six years now, but fianlly got the courage to do it after falling out of love with my relaxed 'do.
First image of locks i remember: Maxi Priest, when i was a little girl.
First time i wanted locks: when i saw pictures of Lisa Bonet.
First time i cut my hair: November or december of 2000
Reason i went back to relaxers: Insecurities about my femininity with short hair.
Kept cutting my hair off when i got tired of it, never grew out of one style and never did what i wanted.
So in april i locked my hair, it was locked incorrectly.
After about a month, cut those waxy messes off my head.
Wore a teeny weeny afro until september and then started my journey.
*update- Third or fourth month of my journey going well and i am practicing at latch hookin my hair with a bobby pin.

*update- 2010 Since my last visit alot of things have changed. i had open heart surgery for the fourth time, got my third pacemaker, live in florida. In 2008 i had my second child, a daughter named Janavia.

I am disabled and working from home.
I am blessed to be here and to take care of my family.
