My Regimen: (Updated 7/15/10)

Everything that I do to my hair typically involves one or both of these tools. I've learned how helpful it is to section my hair into 2-4 sections (depending on level of laziness) and apply conditioner/moisturizer, or shampoo it that way. This helps to better distribute the product and helps a lot with detangling. I also find that washing or co-washing at least every 4 days, reduces tangling a LOT. This contradicts the low-manipulation reggi that so many long-haired curlies swear by, but I haven't noticed any retention issues yet so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I use shampoo about one a week. I don't mind Sulfates, though I may try a Sulfate-free regimen in the future when I use up what I have. I clarify/chelate MUCH less frequently now, once a month, if that. I shampoo my scalp, and let the rinse-off handle the strands, unless I am clarifying/chelating, in which case, I coat all of my hair with shampoo.

I am on the fence about deep conditioning. Some people don't believe in it. I am currently still experimenting to determine if my hair really needs it, but I don't do it very often. I do use a lot of instant conditioners both as rinse-outs and as leave-ins. I am also a fan of one deep conditioner as a leave-in, which I'll list in a moment.

Style-wise, I keep it simple. When I first b/c'ed all I did was wng's, but have since expanded to braid-outs and twist-outs, which I am loving!! I have been experimenting much more and I am FINALLY ordering a PIBBS 514 in a couple of days so expect to see more variation in my photo albums now!!
