I may be ignorant of many things
but no longer am I ignorant of the beauty of the
natural strands of hair on my head that are counted,
each of them, by my Father in heaven. They
are known by me and the people
who know me, see me, love me, desire me, and hate me.
Daily, I proudly present these kinky koils of kurls,
neat at times, untamed, clean, dirty,
up, down, twisted, wrapped up, patted down, knotty, frizzy
and just plain ole free.
Guess what? They are beautiful!
In my eyes and His.
This nappy crown of glory
is mine to flaunt with love and care.
As with any crown of valuable jewells, it has
a natural knack to peak many of folk curiousity.
It's mine I say, and there isn't another crown of glory like it.
