- Beginning with my senior year in high school I had it with perms. Since I was little my hair had always been thick, black and healthy. However, when I decided to have my hair relaxed I had ever problem you could thing of even though it looked "nice". This is partially what motivated me to grow out my relaxer. Also, while working sometimes I would spot women with beautiful, healthy natural hair. So, I transitioned for nearly 6 months and did the big chop through braids & roller sets! I had about 2 inches of new growth. It wasn't that big of a shock for me but for people around me. Regardless, I love my hair naturally. Black hair is beautiful, it is just different & very versatile. It's time for people, especially those of African descent to wake up and to fully accept themselves!! This has been a huge revelation in my life however has given me wisdom in how I perceive myself as a young black woman. I do not have a problem with relaxed hair. However, there is something special and beautiful when you are in love with your natural self. Also, I am a very creative and artistic person, meaning I love to change up my look. Whether, it is braids, a puff, twists or a sew-in for a new look, I love variety. Also, I love color but know extra care must be taken into consideration...such as extra moisture & oil. I have just started my page so there are not that many pictures to look at but as time passes by I will definitely upload more pictures. <3 Nika.
Ladies....I need your help. I am debating whether to dye my hair darker to a soft black or to a honey brown. Which do you believe will complement me better??? I am torn in between the two. Both are pretty. Leave a comment please. - General Information
