November 2010 ~ UPDATE~

It has been 14 months since my relaxer. I think I have color damage from the dye I put in my hair before my BC...so I wont ever dye my hair again. The ends of my hair with color do not curl up like the rest. I've been slowing cutting off the colored ends as my hair grows out.

My other issue is single strand knots (SSKs)...they are driving me CRAZY!!! So, im hiding my hair for the duration of the years using mainly crochet braids...I did my first set this month and I love them. They are very easy to put in and are low maintenance.

Other than the color and SSKs I feel like my hair is thriving...I Luv it!

June 2010 ~ UPDATE~

I did my BC on 6/4/2010 !!!!!!

Ok...so after 9 months of transitioning...I decided to do my BC.

II was'nt nervous or scared...just happy!!!

I didn't like how it looked after because it was really dry and shrunken up. I went home...and washed & twisted it up...And I love it!!!

I feel so free and alive...lol...so glad I went ahead and got it over with.

I've realized that my hair requires a lot of moisture...so i spray my hair with h2o at least 2x per day.

I am really enjoying my natural freedom!!!

February 2010 ~UPDATE~

I've been wearing a lot of braids. I spray my scalp nightly with Sulfur8 (Fresh Scent) and apply Tree Oil...and it has been working really well with my scalp.

My plan is to transition mainly with braids. I wear them for about 5 weeks and give my hair a 1 week break...mainly wearing wigs and bantu knot outs. Then will re-braid.

January 2010 ~ UPDATE ~

Ok...so I've been going 4 months strong with no relaxer!!!
This time around my transition is not as difficult...because I am working towards a goal. I am so tempted to do the BC...but Im gonna hold off for another couple of months.

My hair has grown a lot since I embarked on this journey. I've been wearing braids, braids, & more braids!

I have always wanted to go natural but never was able to make the step. I was so convinced that my relaxed hair was so much "better".

I started this photo "journal" of my hair to keep me motivated from relaxing my hair and to have picture proof of my hair's growth.

I've tried unsuccessfully, several times before to go completely natural, but some "special" event always came up, and I gave in and got a relaxer. I am determined to make it this time.
