 | I've always had thick hair. My mom did my hair all the time and when it was time for high school I started going to the hair salon. I never knew how to do my hair. To me it was unmanageable. So I would ALWAYS get braids. I was fine with having braids forever as far as I was concerned. My mom wanted me to learn how to do my hair and since I felt it was so unmanageable she suggested I get a relaxer. I went ahead and got one but its not like it made any difference. I would get a touch up wear it out for a week or two then go right back to braids. Over time I noticed my hair wasn't as healthy and thick as it used to be. I missed that thickness, and when my hair dresser said that my hair was thin and damaged thats when I decided to stop getting the relaxer. I made this decision on June 2006. So now starts my journey. Not only to natural hair but also learning how to manage and do my hair on my own. I am inspired by this site and everyone on here. Looking at peoples albulms keeps me motivated and helps me to learn how to take better care of my hair.
