TeNeasha Capri *MY CAM IS BROKEN, I FEEL NAKED :(
I have just begun the journey embracing my natural hair. I have been getting my hair relaxed since I was about 12 years old, my mother did it herself until I was able to work and pay for salon visits on my own. I have been paying anywhere from $50 to as of this year an astonishing $80-$100 to get my hair relaxed and styled. Finally I thought, "if I'm paying someone this much to do my hair every month then I should have a full head of healthy long hair right?" Wrong. My hair became extremely damaged, thin, and dry. One day I looked and I had lost all the hair along my hairline on the left side of my head!!! This side is normally thinner than the rest, but now there's barely enough to pinch. Enough is enough if you ask me. My last relaxer was in June 2008 and it feels great to learn how to care for my hair on my own. I feel liberated that I don't have to rely on someone else to claim to care for my hair when all I'm doing is paying them to damage it even more. I am happy to report that since I stopped relaxing my hair its growing like crazy! It softer, shinier, and has lots more body. I can't wait to explore the many styles that are possible to do with my natural hair texture.
