I was born and raised in Clayton, Alabama and if you know anything about the South then you know that HAIR is queen. She is lyed, fried, dyed and laid to the side. Crimps, waves, weaves, big, colored hair reigns supreme.
BACK TO ME.
I graduated form Clayton High School (now Barbour County High) and Alabama A & M University.
I moved to the Seattle Metro area where I currently reside, and nobody told me that my hair would go crazy here from the number of moist days per year. I didn't have a problem with my relaxed hair but it was beginning to cost a little fortune to keep up my Southern hair maintenance in Seattle. So I decided to go natural with help from a friend. (MU)!! She has always been a die hard natural.
In 2002 I started wearing braids to the point that people didn't know me without them. I took the braids off in August of 2003 and went for a cut and can you imagine when I walked into the barbershop and said cut it off. That was the last I thought of having a PERM.

I love my natural hair. All of my youth my mother and others told me how bad (NAPPY) my hair was and I believed that. Now that I maintain it on my own I know different. It’s perfect for a puff, full Afro, twist, braids, wraps, roller set and if I want to PRESS and COMB.
