Natural Muze- 2009 randoms!

hey everyone!! hope the new year is a blessed one for all. i'm doing great and loving my natural journey still. my hair has grown tremendously and now my whole family has decided that i have to take care of their hair! lmao.

i do have a few product changes...

i no longer use aloe vera gel in my hair unless i'm using moe's oil-growth concoction. lol. (MoeGrow) simply because i have no reason to. i don't really wear twists ever, so i don't really have a need to. i DO use it on my face though... it's great for skin. lol.

-i've added herbal essence hello hydration and jason's conditioners.
-coconut oil is the oil i use most now and i must say i LOVE it.
-don't really use castor oil anymore because it's kinda thick and my hair loves coconut oil way better. lol.
-occasionally (maybe twice a year. lol) i blow dry my hair, and when i do, i use hask straight solution before i put the heat on and it seems to protect just fine.

in april 07, my goal was to grow 4 inches by october... six months. but after much dedication to my hair's health...i am proud to announce that i did in fact grow them in FIVE months! whooo hooo! lol. i did cut off about an inch all around....just to trim it and keep the ends healthy, but overall i am happy with the way and rate that my hair is growing.

what i've seen the best results with is simply keeping my hair moisturized, protected, and clean. if i'm not wearing braids (which i did a lot in these last few months) i co-wash everyday with VO5 tea therapy, spritz with a mixture of castor oil and water, then do a puff with aloe vera gel and shealoe or shake n go.

i deep condition with a cholesterol conditioner and am planning on doing my first acv rinse tonight. basically the only products i'm using right now are :

-moeshealoe
-castor oil
-jojoba oil
-VO5 tea therapy conditioner and shampoo
-cholesterol deep conditioner
-extra virgin olive oil
-doo grow mega thick growth oil (occasionally)
-iuza 100% indian hemp (i use this to slick my hair back when i wear a bun instead of gel)
-aloe vera gel

so i FINALLY stopped being lazy and set up my fotki.

basically this is all about my hair journey from permie to natural beauty. :)

so...my last perm was sometime in february 06. i don't know the exact date but i know i got a perm done for my bday (feb 14th). before that i was natural for like a year and a half and then i had a mental lapse and got a perm again. booooo. but it's been a year and i'm finally done transitioning, and i'll never go back to perms again.

i'm starting out with four to five inches all over....and trying to get four more inches by october (six months from now). i don't have a strict routine...but i am trying to narrow my products down to a manageable routine for my hair.

i took biotin pills during my transition but i've just recently stopped them and am now taking gnc ultra nourishair...so hopefully i'll have good results with that.
