Have been experimenting with so many hair styles since deciding to go natural October 20, 2008. I love it. My hair is bit of a challenge but I will get there. I have come to grips that I love the sleeker, straight style more than I do the curly look, so some may not call me (my choice of hairstyle) "natural". But if I love it then it doesn't matter what others say. I am happy that I MADE it to a year. It feels great.

December 21, 2009, first time I wore my kinky curly hair to work!! It was uplifting. I work in State Govt in Alabama, so I don't necessarily fit in with everyone...lol. Of course, I have gotten strange looks and ppl wondering why didn't I keep my hair straight. The thing is, I have to feel comfortable in my own natural skin and love myself the way I am. This journey has allowed me to find myself, find out who I really am and be secure in myself no matter what others think. It took me 28 years to completely understand how important that is for spiritual and mental growth but I finally do and I'm going to continue to embrace this journey. Happy Nappy!

October 20, 2009-1 year anniversary since deciding to go natural; although I consider April 8, 2010 to be by real anniversary since April was the month I did the big chop and was completely natural!
