- I've started this profile to record my natural journey. I have my first relaxer when I was 9 and continued to relax my hair every 3 months for 14yrs. At the end of 2006 I decided to go cold turkey and go the natural route.
I started transitioning with braids but 7 months later I grew impatient. I asked my mom to cut my hair off. She was hesitant at first but I persuaded her. The difference was scary at first since I had never worn a fro.
It's been 9 months now since I did the big chop and I am now used to my texture. I actually love it...it's so soft! I've braided my hair off and on throughout the last months and I did wear a sew-in for 6 weeks.
Fast forward 11months after the big chop I decided to relax again. I need less time consuming hair!
Now that my hair is relaxed again I plan to take care of it and watch it grow! I also got a haircut after my relaxer.
