- I was relaxed on and off since I was like 3 years old...ye, that tells you how 'hard-to-manage' my hair is lol Ye, I started the whole 'break-every-comb-in-the-house' craze.
-Mini-chopped from Almost Armpit length to below chin length May 24th 08 Due to relaxer, heat, sun and colour damage [lool]

Reasons for Going Back to Natural :
-Fed up with "new growth";
-I've always loved afros..who knew I had one all along, just screaming to be unleashed;
-Trying to live the 'natural life'..using all natural hair, body and skin products..last time I checked sodium hydroxide is the opposite of natural
- To prove my mum wrong ; natural hair can actually grow without me having some sort of white/latin/asian mixture in me lol
- To set an example to my kids and all the other little black boys and girls who grew up thinking that there was no other way for their hair to be except relaxed, damaged and disdained ; letting them know that the way God made their hair is beautiful and they should view it as such
-To accept myself ; to accept my birth right as a black woman, which means accepting my nappy, kinky, coily hair and loving it whole-heartedly.

Reasons for Transitioning To Locs;
- One of the main reasons I grew out my relaxer was so I could rock the afro that I've longed for and admired on others for years. It didn't work out.
- Damage. My hair is full of split-ends, holes, you name it. I moisturized twice-daily, only combed on wash-days, etc. I blame the cheap comb I bought from those dumb 'hair shops'.
- Frustration. I can't recall one time I've washed my hair and not been driven to tears by frustration.
- Done with combs. I can't recall one occasion that I've combed my hair and not had handfuls coming out - regardless how gentle I was, regardless the technique I used, regardless how much conditioner I had in it - it became ridiculous. I'm done. Combs are dead to me now lol.
- Curiosity. I have always been in awe of all the lovely ladies (and men) with gorgeous locs of all lengths, colours and size. They're beautiful and seemingly care-free. Hopefully it'll be less stressful.
