Got a new piece to post that I wrote after I hit my 2 year mark. So here goes....





Sacrifice Lies Within



Two years

I stopped living a lye

But have I stopped living a lie

Gained so much

And sacrificed the same

In the end still lost what truly mattered

Over this time

I've smiled bigger than I ever did before

Laughed much more than I ever have

Cried tears I thought I would never shed

Lost people that I didn't realize that I never had

Tried my best to satisfy everyone

Given myself completely

Worked vigorously

Put in so much effort, tirelessly

Pulled in so many directions

I thought once I stopped living a lye

I would stop living a lie

And live this life for me

But this change

Brought about cyclical actions

Finding myself in a similar situation

At once emotionally bankrupt

Trying to reorganize my life again

Get my priorities in order

Live according to His will

This is all out of my control

Just like I sacrificed the lye

I must rid myself of this lie

Two years I stopped living a lye

Today I must stop living a lie

I'm ready for change

I need this change

Like I need Him in my life

I need Him to stimulate me

I'm ready for growth

I need this growth

God knows my heart

I can't stay this way

I can't stay in this place

Move me in Your way

Because I'm tired of living this lie

And only You know the truth

This life needs some truth

Let's see...I really don't know what to put here that's why it's been blank for a while

Well I've always had a strong admiration for women with un-relaxed hair. I would say I want my hair like that but never knew when and if I would ever do it. I just walked in a hair salon and told her to cut it all off...It took some getting used to, mainly for everyone else, but I loved it.

I want to share with you a few words that was shared in the weeks after the BC...

Undressing me

There are some people I must dismiss.
There are some habits I must quit.
There are some things that don't mix
with the new lifestyle I've picked.
There are some people that conflict
with the choices I've made.
I've grown to love myself more and more each day.
No one will stop me.
I can't let anyone hinder my process of being free.
If they care they'll stay.
If not they'll walk away.
Some people you dismiss.
Some people you embrace.
But the people that grow with you
will never turn their back away.
I've been through a struggle.
I've had ups
and what felt like so many downs
but I'm human.
I expect the unexpected more than the expected
because in the end it's reassuring.
Once you've loved you've learned that
Once you've learned you've lived.
Love, learn, live.
Let go. Live on.

and here was the reason I gave why...

I'm beginning my own journey in life. I'm through trying to be the person others want me to be. I'm being me. I'm being free. Friendships either grow together or grow apart. Those that grow together you learn to cherish and appreciate. To all of those who have love and supported me throughout my times the feelings are reciprocated. Fewer friends means there's more of my love to go around. People are often judged by the company they keep. So the lack of many friends with distasteful qualities only proves that I have inner strength to let go of people that often destroy instead of rebuild.


As of 04/14/10 I started dreadlocks! I'm enjoying the journey thoroughly. Pics to come soon.
