Hi, I am 17 years old (19 now) and want to grow my hair. I had become interested in achieving long hair because I was talking to this guy once and he asked me if black girls can grow their hair. I thought wow yet wondered myself. I saw a few girls with long hair but had always assumed they've always had long hair. I found Cathy Howse's website and wanted her products so bad lol. I bought her book and products. I used Ultra Black Hair growth products from Nov 2006 to March 2007, then I ran out. Finally, I stumbled upon LHCF, I'm a member but I cannot post because I did not subscribe, but the women on there really inspired me.

I have 4a/b relaxed hair (Now Transitioning)

The front is shoulder length
The back is between shoulder and APL Length

First Goal - Reach full shoulder length (Achieved)
Second Goal - Reach APL in the back (Achieved)
Third Goal - Reach Full APL (Achieved)
Fourth Goal - Reach Full Bra strap length in the back
Fifth Goal - Reach Full Bra Strap Length


UPDATE: JUNE 22, 2009 ======> Sorry I haven't been on here in a while. I was studying abroad in Europe for a semester. Pretty much my hair is now chopped lols! I made the big mistake of not carrying all of my staple products and I slacked on protective styles badly because I wanted to be cute all the time! Oh and the water was soo hard. My hair would airdry completely in a matter of 30 min. after jumping out of the shower. So I pretty much experienced alot of breakage.. especially in the nape area, an area that I've never had much trouble in. But anywho, while I was overseas I pretty much spent my internet time on youtube and found so many beautiful women going natural. I just wanted to be apart of it. My sister is natural and has been for 2 years now, but we have different hair. She has always had the "good hair" in the family. When we were younger, she had the thick long hair and I had the coarse short hair. My mother is not happy about the idea of me going natural at all. So I feel pretty much alone here. My sis says go for it. But everyone else is telling me that it will look bad and I won't look the same anymore. Which in other words, I will look ugly with my natural hair. Although, I am around all of this negativity, I still want to try. I hope I can do this.
