I'm a native Arizonan, born and raised. My grandparents on both sides came to Arizona from Oklahoma and Tennessee. Like so many other folks they came here in the 30's and 40's to work in the cotton fields and farms. A very hard and dusty life, with small rewards. The land of milk and honey. Well, I guess they must have gotten their finger's a little sticky because although I never ate from a silver spoon, I never went hungry either. I come from a long line of drinkers and dreamers, preachers and singers, sinners and saints. I've seen too much of what abuse of any kind of substance can do to a family. My parents were divorced by the time I was one. My daddy died in 1999, of course with alot of things left unsaid by us both. I'm alot older now, and I've had a few epiphanies since then, some of which have been questioned by the people I love. I was happily married for 25 years since 1983. Sadly on May 8, 2009 I lost the love of my life. He battled Mantel Cell Lymphoma for 4 years. Already he is so missed. I have 3 children...(Derrick 29)( Marci 25)(Renn 23). I'm also a grandmother of 4...(Liam, Jade, Lillith, and Charlotte).
