- I had my last perm in winter of 2002...transitioned with braids for about two years. I resolved to stop wearing braided extension in 2005 (they were a crutch, I didnt know how to do my own hair) and have been growing out my hair since.
For those that type, I am 4c to the max. These days I usually wear my hair in box braids for a couple weeks, and then out for a couple weeks (usually in a bun), condition wash, hot oil treat, re-braid, and repeat.

update: so, my hair has grown...i'm an inch short of bra length when stretched in the back (shorter in the front). I'm in professional school now, which is really hectic, so I dont have time to mess with my hair. I wore my first weave this year...when loose I just wear my hair in a pony puff with conditioner and oil seal. My goal is to do more protective styling so I can reach my end of 2010 goal (or nearabout): shoulder length unshrunken hair! I'll probably weave up for the rest of winter and see what I'm working with come Spring :)
