- Hi my name is Trashon and I am a creamy crack-a-holic! Whew! They say exceptance is the first step to recovery. So a few days ago I made the decision that I was not going to retouch (relax) my hair. It’s a change I’ve wanted to make all year but felt powerless to the idea of not having relaxed hair. Until a few days ago, at the 6 weeks retouch period, I stood in the mirror looking at the new & perm demarcation and feeling as if I needed to hurry out and get a box because my hair was "thick" and looking a mess. In that moment I heard a small voice say REALLY loud "enough is enough" and at that point I knew it was time to let it go. So instead of relaxing, I washed, which we all know is a cardinal sin before getting a perm and while staring at myself in that mirror, I practiced loving me for me and not for my relaxed hair. So here I am. I was introduced to this site by my cousin who is also natural. I'm going to do what so many of you have done share my pics and experience, but most importantly create a system of support, help and advice from so many of you who have made the journey, transition, to a natural way of life. I’m excited, ready to be liberated, and anxious to see ME. :) OH, BTW if my son's hair is any indication of what my hair type will look like then I’m going to need A LOT of help...oh boy!!! hehehehe
